Fashion modelling is one of the industries where I expect AI to have significant impact on workers. For traditional magazine, online or TV ads it seems like a no brainer to cast perfect looking AI models versus photoshopped human models.

The primary reason to keep humans around will be for runway shows and even then you would likely just license their likeness for other media than have them actually perform in those ads.

AI to generate images of clothes on models, or AI to generate images of clothes on you?

One would sell more, one might not. But I'll bet both become a thing.

in reply to Dare Obasanjo

whenever product images are blatantly CGI it instantly puts me off, because I just assume they either didnโ€™t look good enough to photograph in real life, or come from some dodgy brand that canโ€™t afford a real photoshoot

Russia faces a crisis regardless if Putin ends or continues the war in Ukraine, economist says

cross-posted from: lemmy.world/post/21521751

Summary

Regardless of Putinโ€™s decision regarding the war in Ukraine, Russiaโ€™s economy is facing a crisis due to factors such as sanctions, a shrinking sovereign wealth fund, and a labor shortage. The war has boosted growth, but Russia cannot sustain it without significant economic consequences.

It's been really awesome getting to work with @a every day at Spritely. Amy joined as Technical Administrator about a month ago and has been doing an incredible job.

When I say Amy is an incredible #Emacs witch, I mean, just look at her "boxy" org-mode diagram tool gitlab.com/grinn.amy/boxy-headโ€ฆ

Also the Spritely Papers repo uses org-mode and some elisp since the papers are Literate Programming docs, so look at this beautifully cursed thing @a did to turn the makefile's language into elisp gitlab.com/spritely/spritely-pโ€ฆ
