To argue about whether Musk made a Nazi salute is beyond futile. It is stupid. Don't waste your time.
Instead, if you are still on Twitter, leave now and tell people who know who are still there that you will respect them less if they stay.
If you were planning to buy an EV, don't consider Tesla.
If you own a Tesla, sell it.
Tell your legislators to push NASA, the FAA, et al to stop handing so much money and power to SpaceX.
Act.

People in Gaza are shocked by the scale of the destruction. They did not imagine that complete neighbourhoods have been wiped out.
But it is not only that. The houses that are still standing are either burnt or unlivable.
And there is another thing that needs to be pointed out. There are a lot of explosives left in some areas. That is why it is very dangerous for people to approach their houses at this stage.

One of those "difficult to get the colour right"-yarns (#LITLG in "Deep Coral") and bad light on a wintry morning in Northern Germany - but I'm quite happy with this sock so far.
Pattern is *Yttygran Socks* by Anna Zhuravleva from last year's Sock Madness. I really like the Strong heel, it's a simple and non-fiddly heel. The twisted-stitches pattern only extends to ~16 stitches on the front, astonishingly easy work for a great effect. Work smarter, not harder ;)
As you may know, I launched a Bluesky account for my creative work (I post only my artwork and have minimum interactions), it's been 5 days and I had not received free and violent insults like that since the end of 2022 and my arrival on Mastodon.
I think I'm going to do *A LOT* of preventive blocking.
And a big thanks to moderators and admin like @Curator who prevent us from having this kind of behaviour here 👏.
Il est sur quelle instance ? Je l’ai pas trouvé.

in reply to Dan Gillmor • • •I agree with your points. We know people who have already dumped their Teslas.
We've got one - in so many ways it is showing that it was neither designed nor implemented to be anything more than an iPhone on wheels with a fairly decent drive train wrapped in a cheap body and cheap interior.
We plan on replacing it, perhaps with a Hyundai (most likely) or a Polestar (less likely.)
Unlike the technology dud that is Tesla, Space-X seems to be rather solid and its only disease is its link to Musk. I'm rather at a loss how the US and others can unwind their relationships with Space-X for launches. Starlink, on the other hand, is an environmental and astronomical mess.

in reply to Dan Gillmor • • •So I sell my Tesla (at a significant loss) and buy what exactly?
All other EV’s are stuck with either unreliable charging networks (not what you want when crossing the AZ desert) or the Tesla supercharger network. Plus driving assistance that is significantly behind Tesla’s FSD.
I suppose I could buy a gas car and perpetuate our climate disaster…
The solution, unfortunately, is not that simple.

But definitely don't buy Tesla, or Starlink!

Now he just went ahead and destroyed everything, including his appearance.
I stopped using Twitter when he purchased it. Won't call it X either.
Stop this nonsense, or it will be too late to act.

US president Trump repeals Biden’s AI safety order
This repeal will leave the American public unprotected from the risks and harms of AI and unable to take up the benefits it might bring. Meaning he has isolated A.I. development from hands average Joe, to only Corporations are allowed to develop.

in reply to Dan Gillmor • • •Selling a used Tesla to someone else doesn't accomplish much unfortunately. It's not a transaction that benefits Elon or Tesla in any way, and it's still out there just being driven by someone else.
Definitely don't buy new ones until they fire his ass.
