PSA for my friends …

And those of you who have been encountering “Nicole, but you can call me Fediverse Chick …”

aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/wha…

“Pig Butchering” is an exponentially growing scam model, being carried out by trafficked people. It rolls a whole psych warfare + romance + free crypto money scam together with some sort of grandpa-scam entree, and they’re in for a long game.

Mastodon Admins are trying to get rid of “Nicole”, but its a hydra.

DO NOT ENGAGE.

Re: Nicole ~ This alleged Polish student in Toronto attending George Brown U. for pre -med sent me an unsolicited private message. I didn't engage, but curiously got some scam phone call from London, England today. Did not answer or engage with that either. Then, I got a scam email with a bill attached, also, did not open or engage. I must be on some geezer hot list in Scamatopia. Feel like I'm fending off cyber predators with a feather duster. 🙄

Went back to bog standard 3-button navigation on #Android.

It's less intuitive in some ways, but so much less aggravating in a lot of ways, especially for the accessibility gesture.

Gee, I wonder why L.A.'s budget is so out of control. What could possibly be causing this? What a mystery.

The Euclid Space Telescope's first images reveal stunning galaxies and nebulae. Its ultrawide lens captures more sky with high resolution, measuring dark matter's effects and creating a 3D universe map. These images help us understand dark matter, star formation, and galaxy evolution.

You wanna know what this is really all about- all this nonsense, all these computer-enhanced, colorized pictures, all these bullshit theories that lead nowhere? Its how you sell star trek fantasies to the average moron to in order to justify spending money on what their real goal is: militarizing space. I'd like to warn people not to fall for it but I doubt it will make any difference when people are so easily brainwashed.
in reply to Your Conscience

@Im_Speaking_Now believe it or not, but some people really do enjoy doing science and learning things
in reply to Yogthos

Oh really? That's not science, that's science fiction. Sorry you can't tell the difference.
in reply to Yogthos

Pretty baseless accusation. My condolences to your lack of understanding.

@Im_Speaking_Now nah, I didn't lose the point of your original statement. You're simply opining on a topic you have absolutely no clue about. You do not understand what science is.
in reply to Yogthos

The fact you have no argument to refute anything I said shows you have no understanding, not me.
in reply to Your Conscience

@Im_Speaking_Now when you say something that's fractally wrong, I'm not going to try to educate you here on what science is. It's a meaningless discussion with somebody who is aggressively ignorant.
in reply to Yogthos

@Im_Speaking_Now

Btw, as someone who is well deep into Soviet Atheism and Soviet Materialism, what do you think about the Abyss/Void/Nothingness concept by @nyx I'm genuinely curious.

Spring is heralded in Japan by many different plants and flowers, but one of the most keenly anticipated is 'fuki' (菜蕗), the 'giant butterbur'.

As soon as the shoots appear, they are plucked from the ground and cooked as a delicacy.
