The irony is palpable: ICE is searching for these so-called “criminals” in workplaces, schools, and fields, while the biggest convicted criminal occupies the highest office in America. byteseu.com/925071/ #America #UnitedStates #UnitedStatesOfAmerica #US #USNews #USA #USANews #WeThePeople

Have you ever lamented that the people you encounter, where you live, in your country, or in our world, just aren't scientifically literate?

It's true, but probably not for the reasons you've been taught. Here's what science literacy actually looks like, and why we need it now more than ever.

Shrimp Thief

In this image, a laughing gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) is captured mid-flight, having just snatched a shrimp from the water. Upon closer inspection, the shrimp is visible in the gull's beak, along with droplets of water suspended in the air from its dramatic takeoff. Meanwhile, in the lower left corner, a sanderling (Calidris alba) strolls by, passing a piece of driftwood resting on the sandy shore.

indeed; it is thus....not sure anyone pointed out that Bezos' fiance was on board. I'm at a loss to know why she was included as being a "celebrity". But, I really don't care either. Hi, Vee, hope you are doing okay.

@BillMcGuire
yep she was. I think we're confusing 'celebrity' with 'important for any reason'.

I'm well thx, you?

We are living in a period where in the US, norms of all sorts that people count on - economic, political, moral, informational, and more - are being broken and unraveled. Dan and I discuss costs involved with this in the latest episode of Wisdom For Life, starting by looking at business and the economy. We'll be revisiting this issue from other viewpoints in upcoming episodes

I have a new website! It looks considerably shitter than my last one, but then it's also about £10 cheaper a month too, so.........

@DBSSticky It's probably the Substack feed to be honest. My own website is an extra place to post stuff that I keep forgetting about, so it won't be so active probably. That might change if I find the time/courage to jump ship from Substack, but for now, I'm not intending to. The audience is still growing pretty rapidly there, and after abandoning X and Instagram, that's the ONLY place it's growing now, so I'm loathed to abandon it.

@DBSSticky Understood, I'm already digesting the substack newsletter into Feedly, so all is good. Cheers.

So apparently because Trump declared acts of vandalism against Tesla to be "acts of terrorism", he may have prevented owners of freshly crispy Tesla's from being able to make a claim for arson on their cars because their policies almost certainly didn't cover acts of terrorism, and that's how those actions are now classified by the trump admin.
