New #blog post: Containerising and deploying #Calibre server to read an annotate #ebooks in a browser

I've got a book than I need to read and take notes on over the next few months, but I'm long out of the habit of being able to sit and read.

To maximise my opportunity to dip in and out, I wanted to make the book available on every device I have - allowing a few spare minutes to be used here and there

This post talks about using Calibre's content server to do that

Hello fediverse,
I began to code an #Discord x #Revolt Bot on @Codeberg and appreciate your support. If you have a little knowledge of coding and know what Typescript is, don't hesitate to make some PRs on my repo. You can look at the Projects Roadmap and issues, and what is planned to be implemented.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write me a DM or contact me on Revolt (Username is declared in the Readme.md). ;-)

in reply to Liam

is that a bridge bot?

Smol "What does this do" would help :D

in reply to Beko Pharm

@bekopharm This bot is a whatever you want bot. I currently working on a Music Bot implementation for Discord. When I'm done with this I will try to implement the same thing on the Revolt side.

In the current state the bot only can reply to /ping on both sides. I'm also trying to keep my code modular so it is easier to code new features.

If someone need a bridge bot they can use Revcord or make an issue, so maybe I will implement this, when I got the time. ;-)

Cat picture finished!

A thought about why this was hard for me, which may or may not be interesting / relevant / true.

There are a wide variety of unusual piece shapes (zoom the picture to see).

My mental toolbox for sorting and remembering piece shapes only seems to work with the traditional shapes (ie broadly rectangular with four linking points, innies or outies).

This is, I suspect, because I remember the shapes by analogy with a human torso: skinny person with right shoulder raised, squat person with legs splayed, this sort of thing.

And *none* of this works with non-trad pieces. So, when doing the difficult last third (the brown background) where piece shape was the best approach, I couldn’t retain the shape needed, and kept missing the piece I was looking for.

It did get gradually better over time, so the next one won’t be as hard, I think.

in reply to Pixy's Journey

@PixysJourney Thanks! I’m lucky that I have space (and a table) to leave it in progress. Hope you can get a roll-mat soon. Puzzles are my best form of meditation, very calming, as long as progress is steady.
in reply to Jody Hughes

You're very welcome! 🌸 I saw some "in progress" toots of your puzzle and am glad that I've seen the completed one now. 😊
Oww that makes it easier yeah...
I did see a nice one with good reviews, but of course the ones with the better reviews and durability aren't the cheapest ones.
But I did get the puzzle, so it's waiting for me to get to it. 😊
I always cry my eyes out with the movie Dumbo, but I do love that little elephant. If I ever get the puzzle done, I'd love to get it framed to hang in the hallway.

The image features the darktable photo editing software interface prominently displayed. The background is a gradient transitioning from orange to purple, with the darktable logo at the top center, consisting of a colorful wheel and the text "darktable" in white. Below the logo, the software interface is visible, showing a split-screen view of a photo of ferns. The left side of the screen displays the image's metadata and a thumbnail, while the right side shows the editing tools and adjustments. The interface includes various panels for editing, such as color correction and exposure settings, with a histogram and color wheel visible on the right. The overall layout is dark-themed, with the interface elements in shades of gray and black, contrasting with the vibrant colors of the ferns and the gradient background.
