Girls are sorta ready for Christmas and a picture of how they act when I'm pumping gas. If I have to go inside they get out of their seat and bounce all around the car until they see me. Then Ana-mhor hops back in her seat like "it wasn't me!" Pittsburgh meanwhile is "thank goodness you're back! Guess what Ana-mhor did!" I unlatch them from the tethers if I'm not in the car for safety.

They look so innocent here and we all know they aren't that!

This is what happens when the target demographic for a toy shifts from “children with an allowance” to “fiftysomething senior project managers”

Had a few American friends ask me (an Aussie) why they never see Australian Migrants in the US, if the pay is better and housing is cheaper there. (even if Australians actually have better purchasing power iirc)

Let's just say they were almost crying from realising just how behind the US is and radicalised by the time I started talking about superannuation and how it fundamentally solved the problem of how to pay for pension system for an aging population (not super exciting but definitely requires more foresight than what the US government is capable of).

That people would *willingly* hand over their guns for a societal greater good (and it worked) and that the leave my friends got after 6 years working at a company was less than what I legally get no matter what in a year on top of long service leave, penalty rates, sick leave, etc (+ domestic violence and family leave for victims).

in reply to Flux

@Umbreon The same's happened to me... I think most (reasonably intelligent) Americans do realize it...

That said... I still feel we're behind Norway. Though in recent years I think we are getting closer in some regards, people genuinely look up to the Nordic model and feel more similar to politics of there in a way than we do with the US or now UK.

@Umbreon agreed... but you know...Europe...socialism...bad...and so on...

The Trump administration is arguing that requiring real-time American Sign Language interpretation of events like White House press briefings

“would severely intrude on the President’s prerogative to control the image he presents to the public,”

part of a lawsuit seeking to require the White House to provide the services.

Department of Justice attorneys haven’t elaborated on how doing so might hamper the portrayal Trump seeks to present to the public.

But overturning policies encompassing diversity, equity and inclusion have become a hallmark of his second administration,
starting with his very first week back in the White House

Because then #Trump wouldn't be able to call the ASL Interpreter 'piggy' or 'stupid' in real time with the interpretation

Any of my fellow musicians have any cool stories of playing with well known professional musicians? Here’s mine…

Back around 1989 my band was playing a local gig and as we were setting up someone came and introduced himself. Turns out it was local legend Chuck Leavell known for his stints with the Allman Brothers and the Rolling Stones. He talked with us for a bit then asked if he could play some songs with us that night. Playing on the same stage as a legend was amazing and a memory I’ll always have. Afterwards he hung out with us the rest of the night. Such a nice guy and still does a lot of charity work locally. So glad to have experienced that.
