"trump says he wants" sounds a lot like a toddler bashing the ground because he wasn't allowed to eat a turd.
I wonder if people randomly stabbing other people would be worse than the reality we live in. Greetings from germany, our politicians are marginally less open with their wishes. Close, but you win, americans.
in reply to Vee

yeah, but have you thought about all the raping, looting and burning you can do?

You can join the Police and shoot humans for sport!

ain't it GREAT

in reply to Sassinake! - ⊃∪∩⪽

@Sassinake You get paid to play an augmented reality version of CoD where you are armed with pain devices and surrounded by victims who can't fight back or the game deletes them entirely before they can threaten you in the slightest. You can squeeze and mutilate them all you want and nobody that can stop you cares. They make some really funny noises when you zip tie their kids and throw them in your van. They do anything to stop you and, "I'm scared," and you get to paint walls.

You're just scared of all the freedoms you'll have! Like the freedom to be shot in school, die from diabetes, catch measles, all you can afford shitty food. Not to mention our fantastic injustice system and deathcare.
You're also free to go to jail for having a joint or too much debt!

Aral Balkan reshared this.

in reply to Simon Brooke

@simon_brooke I'm in New England. We have all that AND snow! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go sell some blood plasma to pay for my medical bills. Just gotta make sure to avoid ICE goons and random drunks with guns.

Trouble is, that nowadays refugees from the USA show up at our European shores.
in reply to Arnim Sommer 🇪🇺

@ArnimRanthoron @apenkop yes, transgender people are sent back because USA is still listed as a "safe" country. My source is statistics from Sweden only. We 🇸🇪 send queer people to a lot less safe places than USA
in reply to CoopDot 🏳️‍⚧️

@coopdot That metric might be shifting rapidly right now. Last I checked, they're getting ready to define us as terrorists. Really. I'm not making that up or exaggerating.

latimes.com/politics/story/202…

I think the only thing keeping them from just rounding us up is insufficient resources, and some remaining uncertainly about what they can get away with right now. But when they get to us, modern tools will make it much more efficient than a century ago.

RE: mastodon.social/@VeroniqueB99/…

@VeroniqueB99

Ooh, the delicious irony of Trump trying to attract people from the most socialist-leaning population you could think of.

But, as the hat says: Trump is right about everything.

@Vee
in reply to Vee

None of this is new, except the Norway part. I don't get the point here.
in reply to No Exceptions

@Bartok Irony is dead.... Norway's one of the most socialist leaning countries and dRumpf is trying to attract THEM?...🤣🤣🤣
in reply to Vee

the only thing trump wants is its head and hands cut off.

even if it tells you it wants other things or does not want that, that is a liar speaking so reason dictates that you ignore what it says.

it really is obvious I think that the only thing trump wants is its head and hands cut off.

@pitrh He really means "white people", because he has no idea that Norway is racially diverse. It's part of his Master Plan to deport decent people and import more right-wing racists to replace them. Same with his "rescue" of those poor racists in South Africa

Racists are who elected him (both times), so with the mid-terms looming, and the courts disallowing his attempts to "adjust" the voting system, he's trying to just get people to move here who will vote for him.

Had a few American friends ask me (an Aussie) why they never see Australian Migrants in the US, if the pay is better and housing is cheaper there. (even if Australians actually have better purchasing power iirc)

Let's just say they were almost crying from realising just how behind the US is and radicalised by the time I started talking about superannuation and how it fundamentally solved the problem of how to pay for pension system for an aging population (not super exciting but definitely requires more foresight than what the US government is capable of).

That people would *willingly* hand over their guns for a societal greater good (and it worked) and that the leave my friends got after 6 years working at a company was less than what I legally get no matter what in a year on top of long service leave, penalty rates, sick leave, etc (+ domestic violence and family leave for victims).

@Umbreon The same's happened to me... I think most (reasonably intelligent) Americans do realize it...

That said... I still feel we're behind Norway. Though in recent years I think we are getting closer in some regards, people genuinely look up to the Nordic model and feel more similar to politics of there in a way than we do with the US or now UK.
in reply to Flux

@Umbreon agreed... but you know...Europe...socialism...bad...and so on...
