A FRIEND is someone who leaves work early on a Friday afternoon while the kids are still in school to bring you a spaghetti casserole they made last night, washes the pile of dishes in your sink, and surprises you with a couple gummies on the way out the door. ❤️

One baby Jesus lies in a manger in the snow, wrapped in a silver emergency blanket with his wrists zip-tied.
Mary stands nearby outside the Lake Street Church in Evanston, Illinois, wearing a plastic gas mask and flanked by Roman soldiers in tactical vests labeled “ICE.”
In another Chicago suburb, not far from an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility that has drawn protests over detentions, a sign at the manger outside the Urban Village Church says
“Due to ICE activity in our community the Holy Family is in hiding.”
And more than a thousand miles away, the Christ child went missing from a Nativity scene at St. Susanna Parish in Dedham, Massachusetts,
replaced by a hand-painted sign: “ICE was here.”

So the MAGA hypocrites are "accusing the churches of abusing sacred imagery?" ... that's really, really, really rich:
in reply to Chuck Darwin

the Catholic authorities criticize these protests. Looks like the gospel (evangelion) is all Greek to them...
(Especially Matthew 25.)

Resetting up my Tesco's app:

We need to verify you're you, send an SMS or scan your clubcard?

Me: SMS please.

*No SMS seems to arrive*

Me: well I don't have a physical clubcard now because I use the app. So can I order one?

Tesco: to cut back on plastic why not go digital?

Loop in a cycle.

Is there a good contact for reaching out to possibly give a presentation maybe next time? I am a holistic author coach who loves to work with neurodivergent authors to create their systems of creative care. 20+ years as a published author as well.

Looks like a great conference! Thanks.

I have seen a handful of posts from such accounts that were neutral, never a good one, but mostly they just say horrible things as if to a shared directive. I find them horrible and the server is now blocked. it made Mastodon instantly better for me. I highly recommend just scrapping them, it was recommended to me and I am paying that forward here for anyone who has noticed something is fucky with them corporate owned social media shills.
in reply to Cassidy James

I think I blocked them. I'm not sure if it's still true, but you had to sign up for an account to reply to them so I just decided it wasn't worth seeing them at all.

Canada has a long history of shedding core national interests to corporate America. The oil sands were developed by PetroCan, a crown corporation. Now, all the oil sands are owned by Americans. The entire Avro Arrow program was scrapped and burned (and the ground was salted) for an unknown reason to me, other than Americans. Connaught Labs, a world renowned developer of life saving vaccines was sold to Americans. The Canadian Wheat Board was dismantled, I think Saudis were involved, most likely supported by Americans. The list is endless. Canadians have to learn to value the things they develop.
