Officials in Gaza say at least 500 buildings, already weakened by Israel’s two-year-long war, are now at risk of collapsing because of a powerful storm.
Heavy rain and strong winds have brought down at least a dozen buildings in the Strip so far.
The storm has made conditions worse for many families who have already been displaced more than once.

Increasingly the UK is being required to choose; are we Europeans or are we in partnership with the USA?Many of us may feel European, but our political class (and right now especially our Govt.) when pushed to choose, seem to prefer to focus on transatlantic relations rather than rebuilding the relations across the channel.
Its increasingly clear this is very much the wrong choice....

in reply to Glyn Moody • • •What were you expecting? The Tories left a depleted civil service, most public service under the control of their cronies, the law rigged to maintain crony control and the books way out of balance. That sort of stuff takes at least a full parliament to address.
All I have heard from alt-Labour so far is a do-what's-popular-and-hang-the-costs attitude which is going to make things worse. If there's someone better tell me and I will go look but so far there is no-one.
