In recent weeks, particularly as his position in the polls has weakened, Trump has repeatedly fallen back on one of his favorite campaign tactics: accusing his opponents of things he's been accused of. washingtonpost.com/politics/20…

Tim Chambers reshared this.

in reply to Philip Bump

Donald Trump projects his thoughts and actions onto others every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. It's a survival tactic and a defining characteristic. He's not doing it just because his poll numbers are dropping.

With help from ChatGPT, I made a #Python script that can convert voc files to MP3, or any other audio file of your choice. I have an old RCADVR recorder that would record in that format. The idea is that I would zip the folder, put it through the python script, it would convert it to MP3 or another audio file format, and then unzip it with the converted audio. I'll need to install dependencies first, like pydub. Then we'll see how it works.

A Ukrainian military medic helped a pregnant woman from Sudzha, Kursk region of Russia give birth. Later, Ukrainian Defenders brought the mother everything for the baby.

Her mom said the woman could have died if the Ukrainian medic hadn't helped.

LOL!!

We're irresponsibly "both-sides-ing" and after spending months on Biden's age/health and zero on Trump’s, boo hoo independent journalism is taking our lunch!

Don't worry NYT/WaPo. Those of us who believe in and support journalism are supporting it. It's just not you.

I'm curious why you lump the post in with NYT - I think the post could be doing better in highlighting some of Trump's unrelation to reality, but I feel like they're wayyyy ahead of the NYT in terms of both-sidesim (and yes I understand that this is an op ed by the publisher of the NYT running in the Post)
in reply to Ellen Shapiro

@designatednerd I just found WaPo to be equally as bad at being a serious newspaper as the NYT.

Maybe they've improved. I last subscribed or gave WaPo the time of day, several years ago. Then it was NYT.

And yeah this weird running an Op Ed from one on the other is.... little weird.

If I had to rank them, agree, NYT would be by far the worst.

IMO nobody named Sulzberger has a right to an opinion on the issue of journalistic integrity. I first developed that opinion on the day the NYT reported the Tonkin Gulf Incident, and I have seen plenty of evidence to support it in the 60 years since.

The Portland City Council in Maine unanimously voted to divest all funds from companies complicit in Israeli human rights violations and war crimes against Palestinians.

Organizers say Portland is the fourth U.S. city, and the first on the East Coast, to adopt such a divestment resolution, which comes after intense campaigning from rights groups including Maine Coalition for Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace Maine.

Russia doesn't want dialogue. Russia doesn't want peace. It wants Ukrainian capitulation. Russia started this war.

First, they were fleeing because of a mass shooting, so those injuries were very much gun-related.

Second, look at how easily and casually he downplays a mass shooting at a school. America is not a decent place.

An attorney for Hunter Biden said the president’s son would plead guilty on Thursday morning just moments before prospective jurors were to be summoned into the Los Angeles courtroom where his federal trial on tax charges was scheduled to begin. trib.al/9lIiE6q
in reply to Laffy

I heard this discussed some months ago I believe on Talking Feds, and the consensus from experienced lawyers was that if a person paid the IRS what was owed, it's almost unheard of to continue with criminal charges. So this is being done to satisfy a blood thirst on the extremist right, including the prosecution team and judge.
