yeah, I feel this and many others do to. This is one of the areas where (particularly, the expensive) publishers fail to do their job. a simple list of IUPAC names as metadata for a (chemistry) paper never happened so far.
Despite enough calls for it, such as this somewhat recent one: doi.org/10.1186%2FS13321-021-0… and the follow up doi.org/10.1093/exposome/osab0…
instead, the #chemistry community seems to prefer an expensive model where we first convert drawn chemical structures to written text and then spend money on other people manually trying to convert that written text again into machine readable chemical structures.
PubChem has a growing list of chemical structure<>literature tuples but not sure they have an RSS feed.
EuropePMC also has several annotation projects I should explore. But too bio, perhaps, linked to PubMed Central
