Boeing Starliner is finally on its way back.

The troubled spacecraft successfully undocked from the ISS without issue just after 6PM ET, and now it is scheduled to land at 12:01AM ET on Saturday at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico.

Trump is giving up and pulling out of three states.

He’s bailing on #New #Hampshire, #Virginia, and #Minnesota.

Trump was never likely to win any of these states. But his campaign viewed them as being just competitive enough that an upset might be possible in each of them.

No more. It’s even worse for him than that.

While Trump hasn’t pulled out of #Michigan or #Wisconsin, he’s now spending the minimum in those states, suggesting he doesn’t think he can win them either.

It appears he’s trying to win the Electoral College by winning #Pennsylvania, #North #Carolina, and #Nevada.

This is a dangerous strategy for him, because it means
🔥Kamala Harris can defeat him simply by winning any one of those three states.

And if she does, Trump no longer has any fallback scenario.

It will not be close.

Gosh, if only someone warned them that this would happen.

My new post inspired by Nicolle Wallace's reaction to the Cheneys' voting for @KamalaHarris: There is an unprecedented grand coalition forming and *that* is the story news media should be covering.

My plea to journalists about covering this unprecedented grand coalition in America:
in reply to Jeff Jarvis

One detail I'm mystified by is whether Trump actually believes foreign governments or companies will pay his tariffs. In fact, US companies would have to pay them to the US government, and would probably pass the costs on to the consumer. A lot of stories about his "plan" don't tell us this.

But what about:
- ratings
- profits
- tax cuts

What if those are more important to the journalists and their corporate overlord #oligarchs than abstractions like #democracy and decency?

Corporate media is showing us everyday what is wrong with the #CorporateMedia ecosystem.

And you, as a good American, ignore how openly they support Vladimir Vladimirovic in his effort to conquer #Ukraine. I sometime wish The Tangerine win, so you would finally learn.

Donnie is doing a great job of bringing America together. It’s truly inspirational. 10 years ago if you had told me I would be voting for the same candidate as Dick Cheney was, I would have thought you were insane, but here we are.

When are the American people going to say, "we've had enough of this shit"?

TL;DR: Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition appears to be faltering, as early investors are losing confidence and the stakes look increasingly dire. Initially seen as a solid investment, the reality of the deal's value is now in question. techdirt.com/2024/09/06/elons-… #law #tech #legaltech ⚖️ 🤖 #autosum

Wow, the new 'Search All Messages From User' feature in @John_Livingston's live-chat plugin for #PeerTube is fantastic!

It'll be a very important tool for moderation -- but also, how many times have you been #streaming and you forgot something someone said, but you couldn't find their message because chat had scrolled so much?

Live streamers on the fediverse are eating good thanks to Mr. Livingston, @Chocobozzz, and everyone who contributes to PeerTube. T_T

I've noticed these features but haven't had the opportunity to make use of them yet! I'm still working on making the PeerTube channel a more central part of my content in-general.

Yesterday I finished version 1.0 of my PeerTube-Twitch-Chat-Bridge, so tonight's the first stream where both chats can talk to each other! I've still got a few important features I need to implement, like disconnect-protection and avatars for Twitch users (downloaded from their Twitch profiles).

HAHAHAHA!!!
Oh ouch! I have seen that too many times in real life!

"'We were peacefully demonstrating alongside Palestinians against the colonisation of their land and the illegal settlement of Evyatar. The situation escalated when the Israeli army began to fire tear gas and live ammunition, forcing us to retreat. We were standing on the road, about 200 meters from the soldiers, with a sniper clearly visible on the roof. Our fellow volunteer was standing a bit further back, near an olive tree with some other activists. Despite this, the army intentionally shot her in the head.'"

Corrie was crushed to death in March 2003 as she tried to block an Israeli military bulldozer from demolishing a Palestinian home in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, near the Egyptian border. Hurndall was shot in the head by an Israeli soldier about a month later.

If the US government is happy to let Israel get away with attacking and killing its own military then they’re hardly going to get upset about Israel murdering US peace activists or journalists.

Latest England COVID data indicate that the latest wave may be over, however it's clear COVID is not a seasonal disease - it may never be one.
So, protection is sensible, and vaccination an option that should be considered, especially as immunity wanes and new variants emerge.
in reply to Dr Joe Pajak

Multiple waves, exhausted healthcare services, unsustainable burden.
Minimal efforts to limit disease spreading, such as vaccinations, distancing, masks, ventilation and testing;
What to do?
Improve airborne infection control, especially in healthcare; manage Long COVID crisis.

Another case of "Wow, I can't believe this very popular book that's been getting so much buzz is actually available for check-out at my library." I don't normally start a book so soon after adding it to my TBR, but I added The God of The Woods a couple of weeks ago, saw it on a list of new audiobooks at my library, and started it today.

I can already tell it's going to live up to the hype.
