Families torn apart by Israel's occupation of Rafah crossing

"The closure of the gateway to Egypt since May has prevented Palestinians from reuniting with loved ones who fled Gaza"

“They are just children and need to be with their mum. Whenever they hear bombings, they run to me, saying: ‘Please take us to mum. There's no bombing there.’ It’s too much for me to be both a father and a mother, especially during a war,”

irgendwas hat man eigentlich immer im Schrank. Das hier sind Makkaroni mit veganem Hack und Bohnen. Ich habe zuvor Knoblauch und Zwiebeln angebraten und Tomatenmark unter die Nudeln gerührt.

@OldManTV it's not up to the UK. All members of the eu would have to agree, and there is little love for the UK right now

@OldManTV @davidoclubb Imagine you left your wife in a hurtful manner because you thought you would be happier. You then have a contentious and drawn out divorce. After a couple of years, you realize your life is worse in every way and you really miss your wife. Despite everything, she still loves you and getting back together would improve her life in several ways.

It would be pretty natural to expect that she wouldn’t take you back all that quickly. She likely doesn’t trust you anymore. She might think you deserve some more punishment for your disloyal behavior. She doesn’t want to go to all this effort only to see you leave her again.

That’s basically where we are now. I do believe the UK will rejoin because it would benefit everyone. But it might take a generation.

Seems like the Linux part of Wikipedias Table of keyboard shortcuts article hasn't been updated in a while.

I went trough and removed/updated some deprecated stuff and added some stuff that wasn't there. For Gnome. And I learned some new stuff in the process.

But there's also some stuff there I'm not sure about and didn't touch even if I think maybe it should be changed. If you have some time, maybe you could have a look?

"Have your checked out openSUSE in a while?"

The lead developer keeps desperately trying to kill, openSUSE Kalpa. I am not Gnome user and the lead for reasons unknown strongly dislikes KDE.

So no, I've not given openSUSE another thought.

But they also keep flip-flopping. They'll clearly say, "we're going to do x, y, z" and then "x, y, z" never happens. I've lost track on how many times they've said they were either going to end openSUSE Leap, or change it (openSUSE Aeon was to replace it at one time), or continue it, and am I unsure where that is now (I think they're working on v16).

It is not just the technical side, even the logo, was once up in the air. They held contest, had a winner, and that was never followed up.

There is openSUSE Slow Roll, which is meant to be a middle ground between Tumbleweed (their rolling release) and Leap (their stable). That has been up in the air too.

Direction. That is what they lack. Many different ideas, but no solid roadmap until you wake up one morning and "surprise, we did a thing" -- That should be their slogan.
