Hello! Feels like it's time to post some notes about hacking some of my older studio gear back into use with Linux π
I have a Frontier #Tranzport control surface.
Seems like Ardour had/has a native driver but it's gone from my Ubuntu distro version. Also it needs some kernel hack that I don't have.
So... I wrote an #OpenSoundControl bridge for it. #Ardour supports network control via this interface and it should be adaptable to other DAWs in future. Source here π
"GOP Gov. Mike DeWine told ABC News on Sunday that there is no evidence that immigrants in Springfield have been eating pets and that the conspiracy theories were 'garbage.'
'The Haitians who are in Springfield are legal. They came to Springfield to work. Ohio is on the move, and Springfield has really made a great resurgence,' DeWine said."
It just turned past midnight here, I am going to ignore this and continue perceiving this as Sunday.

Finally switching to dwl and have been on the fence about going back to x11 for some time and I wanted to use suckless because of C but I know a lot of people are against wayland, for me it's about being on the bleeding edge of technology today and the security. x11 has been used since 1984 and even though today feels a lot like we're living in that novel, wayland is better then it's ever been.
Since dwl has such a small maintainer base I hope to contribute once I get a feel for the windows manager and be a part of something as niche and hated as they are lol

I'm in #Vienna at the #OSSummit Europe! Hoping to meet others who care about #OpenSource #ecosystems, #supplychain #security, #sustainability and how the EU #CRA (Cyber Resilience Act) may influence these.
Please reach out! π

in reply to Slash909uk • • •Also I have an Alesis #MultiMix8 USB2.0 which does stereo playback and 10 channel recording. Suffice to say it's not USB audio compliant! Linux has never had support for it..
Did some detective work with my bro @phlash and decoded the protocol it uses.. then wrote a #JackD audio bridge for it, no kernel hacks required π
