Installing Docker on Raspberry Pi OS
When you combine Docker with the compact, affordable Raspberry Pi, you’ve got a powerful setup that’s perfect for both developers and hobbyists.
Whether you’re building a mini server, automating tasks, or just tinkering for fun, Docker has unlimited usage.
This guide will show you how to get Docker up and running on your Raspberry Pi in no time.
This is also a great way to experiment with Docker. I’d imagine that for anything that reads and writes data a lot, you’d certainly want to have a proper hard drive attached to your Pi. The great thing though with Docker containers, is that they are very portable, so I’ve easily ported them between different hosting providers when I’ve switched. This is way quicker than full installations.

“We tend to focus on the cataclysmic risks of climate change — polar ice caps melting, seas rising dramatically, our planet becoming uninhabitable — and those are real. But (…) we’ve accumulated evidence that the more mundane impacts of heat are already upon us, impacting our daily lives. For example, more people fall off ladders on hot days than on cool days. They are more likely to kill themselves. They are also more likely to kill someone else.” #giftarticle #climate

Learned a new-to-me concept last week: Black digital practice
Black digital practice is the revelation that black subjects have themselves taken up science, data, and coding, in other words, have commodified themselves and digitized and mediated their own black freedom dreams in order to hack their way into the system (modernity, science, the West), take root, and live where they were “never meant to survive.”

CLIMATE CHANGE WORSENS
More rivers in central Europe burst their banks on Monday and the number of deaths increased to 15, with authorities starting to count the costs and others preparing for waters rising further.
Border areas between the Czech Republic and Poland were hit hard over the weekend as heavy rain seen since last week and surging water levels collapsed some bridges, forced evacuations and left others homeless.

in reply to 𝕕𝕚𝕒𝕟𝕖𝕒 🏳️⚧️🦋 • • •Most of them don't have $1Mil. Their wealth is based on their net worth, homes they own, stocks they own, businesses they own. They leverage loans against those assets in order to have cash to spend. Money in a checking or savings account is money that isn't "working" for you by earning more money. Increasing their taxes either means more loans and more interest, or selling off some of their assets and losing its earning potential. They don't just lose the extra tax money, but they lose all the money that $1Mil would have earned them over time. That's why they are pissed.
But that's the same for everyone who has to pay taxes instead of saving for a house, or a newer car that doesn't need as much up-keep, or any of the million other things. Instead that money gets to help a lot of people instead of just one person (assuming it doesn't just get shuffled into the military industrial complex or some slush fund).

in reply to Jess Nut • • •@Jess Nut You mean they would need to sell stocks and assets like houses and apartments lowering the value of those stocks and assets so they would become accessible for the commoners?
