As a personal user of epic, it makes interacting with my providers easier than any system I’ve used in my life. Prescription refills are dead simple, I can pay copays easily with my HSA card, make appointments easily for both my doctors and my dentist.
Whether or not it sucks for doctors, for patients, it takes the many, many tasks that exist *regardless of the system used* and packages them in what is almost a shockingly good UI on my phone.

Captured with a small mirrorless camera and 21mm lens, on a compact travel tripod.
This was a case where I hadn't really planned to make formal architectural photos and so had only a small camera with me, with no shifting lens. I made do by shooting wide with the camera level and cropping, which works but costs resolution and constrains how you can organize the frame. It worked well enough here, but I always feel like I'm leaving something on the table when I don't have the right gear with me.

The composition plays with the contrast between the ambitiously-sized sign and the humble, rustic old store. The photo is about shapes and scale.
This is also a bit of a nod to Grant Wood's famous 1930 painting, American Gothic. (See artic.edu/artworks/6565/americ…). Wood's painting was inspired by a grandiose, ornate attic window in an otherwise humble rural farmhouse that Wood happened upon during a road trip. The absurdly oversized, incongruously Googie-style arrow sign here reminded me of that.

Fascinating long read about Russian troll factories. Founded in 2013 by Yevgeny Prigozhin, they are still going strong after his death, albeit in more fragmented forms.
Particularly relevant in the run up to the #USElection and the current wars.

Dallas Morning News quietly (doesn't bother to tell its readers until several of them ask pointed questions) substitutes old Doonesbury cartoon strips for contemporary ones.
Why? Too tough on Trump.
This is how journalism discredits itself -- with cowardice in the face of loathing from a would-be dictator who's made it clear that destroying the press (the honest ones anyway) is part of his mission.

Thanks for tuning in to the Dallas Morning News Show where Trump is going OK.
Later in the show we've got Ron Dwyer, the author of I'm OK, You're OK chatting with Barry about Trump being OK.
But first Kirsty talks with Dr Wilson about how getting Long Covid is OK.
Over to you Kirsty ...

He has quite the case of main character syndrome.
