I love this story for a few reasons. First, it's about my favorite bird, the turkey vulture. It's also about camera trap photography, which I love. To have a photo of a vulture win a bird photography award feels special and meaningful. Even when we appreciate them for what they do for us, we don't tend to call them beautiful. But they are. They are beautiful, majestic, regal birds.

This is why IDF was hesitant/scared of entering Lebanon

They can fight unarmed civilians and kidnap and kill women and children. But against an well trained army defending their home, they don't have a chance.

Will this be a lesson to stop the genocide and end the reigneof terror #Netanyahu haa brought to the world since he took power in #Israel?

This is one reason why I absolutely refuse to patronize Uber in any of its businesses. What a total scumbag of a company it is.

And if what it's done here is truly legal, it's just another demonstration of how our lawmakers hold their constituents in utter contempt.

in reply to Dan Gillmor

I have never used Uber and never will.
It used to be, under common law (at least in the UK) that you couldn't sign away your rights, no matter what the agreement said. I'm surprised that it isn't the same here under common law. I guess it was superseded by a decision in a US court.

I'm back home.

Apparently they think that I pulled/knotted/torn my rhomboid muscle. They prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers. I'm now waiting for the pharmacy to text me.

Fun times.

Tonight, millions in the United States, Israel, and around the world will celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

This year’s holidays come at a time of conflict and remembrance of painful losses. But I know that even with heavy hearts, the Jewish people have unbreakable spirits.

During this time of reflection, may you be uplifted by the hope a new year brings.

Shana Tovah U’Metukah.

Jason Koebler: Internal Emails From Springfield Show What Happened After Trump's Debate: Internal emails from #Springfield, #Ohio reveal what has happened in the city after Donald #tRump and JD #Vance spread the conspiracy that #Haitians are eating pets.

"A cache of internal emails obtained by 404 Media using a public records request show the chaos caused by the unfounded racist conspiracy theory that Haitian immigrants are 'eating the pets' of residents in Springfield, Ohio. The emails show city officials scrambling to deal with bomb threats, hateful and threatening emails and phone calls, a media bonanza, and confused residents in the immediate aftermath of the presidential debate, in which Donald Trump said 'in Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there.'"

fyi, I'm not sure but I think the age gate somehow broke the incoming link. After I said yes I went to the front page, but when I went back and visited the link again I went to the right place.

Republican seem to believe that voters don’t care about abortion rights that much.

Doing that I can see the loading bar for half a second when reopening the app. As stated on the app webpage this is certainly to update the database with any new images but it doesn't rebuild the entire database from scratch.
Maybe your cache gets deleted automatically when you close the app on your device. Make sure you have no other app that may do so.
