Burnaby delivering on ToD is going wild.
Vancouver would be in a terrible spot if it wasn’t for it. flipboard.com/@dailyhive/vanco…
in reply to Victor Villas

Tried to quote post a toot by @DailyHive and it morphed into a link to flipboard’s website 😯 what kind of magic is this @MonaApp
in reply to Victor Villas

Because it’s a Flipboard post, and Flipboard chose to link those posts to their Flipboard website rather than a Mastodon-based website.

Gotta say, #linux does NOT:

1) Reboot my machine in the middle of the night.
2) Wake me up with Good Morning, We Rebooted Your Machine Without Asking!
3) Try and sell me seven products AGAIN in order to use my machine, after I have declined several times in the past.
4) Make me grouchy to start my day. (Now, later in the day, sure.)

Methane (CH₄) is a potent greenhouse gas. Here are the newest monthly observations...

June 2024 - 1921.8 ppb
June 2023 - 1915.7 ppb

Data: gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/trends_ch4/

does that inflection point correspond with the US natural gas boom?
in reply to Austin Godber

@godber Scientists are still trying to pinpoint the cause of recent changes in methane concentration trends (e.g., wetlands). Here are some articles exploring possible sources/sinks: phys.org/news/2019-03-methane-… & e360.yale.edu/features/methane… & nature.com/articles/d41586-022… & earthobservatory.nasa.gov/imag…

10 years ago, I spent 70€ to buy the procrastinat.io domain.

I planned to make something funny out of it. I had plenty of idea.

It ended expiring without pointing to anything meaningful…

By popular demand (well, a steady trickle of enquiries over the years) I have finally added a Stockholm<>Helsinki 2-night option by train around the top of the Gulf of Bothnia as an alternative to the direct 1-night ferries, seat61.com/international-train…

Made the trip earlier this year. If stoppping up top I would heartily recommend Hotelli Olof, one of the best places we stayed at on our itinerary up from Germany and back down again through the Baltics.

Sounds great, but a caution about the temperature midwinter when it can be as low as 25 to 30 below zero Celsius.
Which makes demands on the choice of clothing.
