#Inkscape

@otter_linnus

Seriously. How do #Python devs get any work done?

I'm only working in it occassionally. In a broad range of projects/versions.

I honestly spend at least half my time on resolving version stuff, getting pip to work in this venv/pipenv/whateverenv, fixing pyright again.

I mean, this is bad with Ruby and insane in JavaScript. But Python pushes it to another level alltogether for me.

Is it because I'm on Ubuntu LTS? Is it that I only occasionally work on Python projects?

I've finished Jason Pargin's (a.k.a David Wong's) new novel: I'm Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom

This time around, Jason Pargin (a.k.a David Wong), of John Dies at the End fame, ditches the horror and sci-fi tropes and goes for a contemporary satire of social media madness.

He dealt with social media before, especially in his Zoe Ashe novels. But this time the more realistic setting and the attempt to find a way out of the vortex results in more than fun satire.

Sorry my English doesn't keep up. Send Putin's tests or sent tests for Putin to use for Russians?
in reply to Laffy

hmm interesting. But one could see this very one sided and blame Trump for doing so. If I was an American and Trump charged a good huge amount to give Putin the tests, I would adore him.
in reply to Farooq Karimi Zadeh

@farooqkz Not sure he even charged him. Once I see Woodward interviewed, I'll understand this better. So I may be mistaken with my "take."
in reply to Laffy

@farooqkz They were testing machines (the ones used and desperately needed in hospitals) that could do a rapid five minute tests, I believe.

Donald Trump’s disastrous speech on Sunday perfectly demonstrated the cognitive decline that attendees at his rallies have been witnessing for months.

Announcing the Cartoonists for Kamala fund raiser! Many cartoonists have donated original art of their work (not just a print!) for the auction where all the funds will go directly to the Harris-Walz campaign.

Here's a link to get you started. More art will be added over the next couple of days as this kicks into gear.

@LexyCameron @iuculano No, it's that when I link over it makes me sign in. I AM signed in, so if I try to do that, it messes everything up.

But @markwyner gave me a fix.

Our Mastodon friend Geoffrey Deihl makes the necessary connection between: 1) politics as usual, 2) US government subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, and 3) an increasing level of killer storms like Helene and Milton.

do my individual choices make a difference. The fossil fuel industry would collapse if there was not a demand for their products.

Adding this to the thread from #HEATED newsletter. No, DeSantis alone didn’t cause Milton.

But YES! all the deny-and-delay politicians that the #OilyBoys have bought since the 1970s did & still do have a big hand in it. We knew enough in the 1970s to begin phasing out fossil fuels. We knew and #TheyKnew. #ClimateAction #ClimateActionNow @emorwee

That says Russia has been grooming Trump since back when it was the Soviet Union. What the hell did Leonid Brezhnev see in this turkey?😏
