Although I've been there & lived nearby, I learned this week that the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg was built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
Built in 2011, the building is made of 18-inch thick concrete walls meant to withstand Category 5 winds. According to the museum, the geodesic glass bubble can withstand up to a Category 3 storm. It sits waterfront along Tampa Bay, adjacent to USF St. Petersburg campus.
