Today's my birthday and it is also Saturday, so I thought doing a "reading day". Can I do it? Not thinking in things that need to be done and just read?
I've chosen three books, let's see if I can go through all of them.
I woke up around 6h30 (naturally, my brain is doing this now), I have my armchair, my blanket, the lamp on (still too dark outside), my hot tea (Pumpkin Chai), and my books.
It's almost 7 am now and I'll start with The Invisible Host, which you can see from the cover I'm most curious about.
See you in some hours!

@Muse - Our local professional company, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, used to be filled with refugees from the Royal Shakespeare Company; they were never mic-ed, they knew how to project their voices, even if that involved a lot of spitting. Younger actors seem to have less skill with voice articulation and projection - and thus need to be mic-ed and backed by a good sound reinforcement system run by someone who knows their stuff.
That lack of skill of articulation and projection seems to have hit TV and movies hard, and badly. We are surprised at how many new TV shows we have to pause and go back to try to understand what was said, even to the point of turning on captioning. It's rather difficult to forgive TV/film people for poor capture of comprehensible voice - it's rather a sign that the director's attention is more on the scenery than on the actors or the story.

IOF now targeting Ali Mortada ("Hello my enemies" viral posts). He's a war correspondent for Lebanon. IOF killed 2 of his colleagues whilst they were sleeping. True IOF's terrorists' tactics.

Look at this incredible crab! It's a decorator crab, also known as a coral crab. It's covered in colorful anemones and sponges, which it uses for camouflage and protection.
Fun Fact: Decorator crabs carefully select and attach these organisms to their shells, creating a unique and personalized disguise

End of Halloween, time for some funny news. 😉 A new, weekly, usual, development report from my #opensource projects is ready: this week 3 things were on the table: a roguelike game (written in #Nim), a multiplatform command line shell (also written in Nim) and a Nim binding to Nuklear GUI library got some changes and updates. I got my loops.video account activated today
So far, there is only some user settings accessible in the web interface. I don't have an iPhone, hence I cannot say for their app. The android app will come later, apparently.
I really wonder if this is just a different frontend for pixelfed that is video-centric, or if it will be something else.
Since it is supposed to be the TikTok of the fediverse, I really wonder if it will, like pixelfed also just feature a chronological timeline? Because what makes TikTok so popular is not the short videos, but the recommendation algorithm that doesn't even require people to follow any accounts.
If it's just another chronological media feed then they could have just modified pixelfed to only allow video upload and would jabe archived the same thing. So far I am really wondering if loops is a new thing, or if it will be just another reskin of mastodon/pixelfed/...
