San Franciscans: Voting this weekend?

Then you need to know how Prop. K could affect car traffic. Read our deep dive: sfpublicpress.org/impacts-traf…

in reply to SFPublicPress

prop K will get cars out of the way of our having a new world-class park.

A very few people (evidently including one of your directors or funders, given this constant drumbeat) having to take a few minutes longer for specific car trips is a small price to pay for a great public space like Crissy Field. #yesOnK

A very good way to have instant access to all program knowledge, workings, creations, and language. The easy access blueprints to robbing your entirety and wiping you clean.

Then proceed with, "This is our version, new, updated from the ground up, a re-creation of a familiar past creation."

I'm glad I'm seeing pushback by @mekkaokereke against the "women hiding their votes from their husbands" meme. I'm sure it exists, but it's not a big factor, and in exit polls in the US, married women vote almost the same as married men - the gender gap is about younger and unmarried voters, whereas a large majority of women married to Republican men are Republican themselves. Go to edition.cnn.com/election/2020/… and scroll down to gender by marital status.

In Georgia and North Carolina, the polls have not moved as much. And nationally, the college educated white women swings have been offset by the non-college educated white women swings in the other direction. Nationally, it's still a toss up if white women as a group will vote for Harris or Trump. Trump is currently up ~3% with white women.

Most of these women have agency in their choices. They know exactly who Trump is, and they choose him.

2/2

in reply to mekka okereke

@Colinvparker @mavu @Radaghaz Absolutely, I’m not arguing that point. But if the attention on a minority of white women who don't feel like they control their own votes, helps a few women feel like they can vote how they want when they didn’t before, I’m all for it. That's not meant to pretend most women aren’t making their own choices.

Kemi Badenoch—the new leader of the Conservative party—is a woman of colour.

But she's also:
— a climate change denialist
— denies institutional racism exists
— a militant transphobe who wants to strip transgender people of civil rights
— believes the British Empire was beneficial to its colonies
— opposes marriage equality
— Prejudiced against autism

... She's the most right-wing leader the party's ever had.

(She's the anti-Kamala Harris.)

Looks like that Hughes is speeding right along.

I was about (I think) to jump into Bluesky more heavily, and then I read this by @pluralistic :

I don't like the Mastodon UX very much but it feels like the right choice anyway.

in reply to Oskar Wickström

just the other week I moved from qoto.org to mastodon.social. It was absolutely effortless. What I would give to do that with X! Definitely not eager to end up there yet again.

This is why I went #POSSE a long time ago for anything of persistent relevance. I grew weary of using my time and energy to create value for others only to find them extremely shitty stewards of such.
