Good morning!

21F (-6C) for my early-morning walk. Me: wool turtleneck, heavy coat, long trousers, boots, gloves, hat. One of my neighbors: t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, unzipped hoodie. Okay, we're both crazy for going out to walk in that weather, but he's crazier than I am.

Another day of writing, reading, and resting. The three R's. I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done.

Have a good one, friends.

good for you! Sounds like you layered like a champ! Rookies forget that you absolutely have to cover ears and your entire neck.

First, lay down the structure. Reflect on this for the next ten years. When you've shed your self-doubt it's time to block out colors. Do not rush this step. Take your time. It should forever feel unfinished. Original painting, Propaedeutic, on offer at xxyxxy.com#poetry #painting

France's Barnier makes last-minute concession to far right in bid to avoid being toppled

PARIS (Reuters) - French Prime Minister Michel Barnier on Monday made another major concession to Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party, dropping planned cuts to medication reimbursements in a last-minute bid to get his 2025 budget bill over the line.

It was not immediately clear if that would be enough to save his fragile coalition from being toppled this week, with an RN spokesman telling Reuters there were other key demands ahead of a crunch parliamentary vote at 3:00 p.m. (1400 GMT).

It is at least the third time Barnier has given in to RN demands after he scrapped an electricity price hike worth some 3 billion euros last week and agreed to reduce free medical help to illegal migrants.

SiriusXM finally lands in Tesla Models 3, Y, and Cybertruck.

The satellite radio service has been available in the Model S and X since 2020 but was conspicuously absent from Tesla’s two best-selling models and electric truck.

Like the Apple Watch app, it’s part of Tesla’s 2024 holiday update, and SiriusXM’s offering a one-month free trial. Of course, Tesla Premium Connectivity ($9.99/month) or an active Wi-Fi connection is also required.

A bit of Good News, for once. I got out my old ring which I couldn't wear when my RA was so bad, but now I can!

unfortunately it is not so simple. Humans are social and empathetic and therefore war with others results in sorrow in others, which bounces back to you through empathy 😭

Catching up on the timeline and I guess we need to explain once again that there is no complicated reason why techbro billionaires are pulling for Trump. It's simple. Billionaires ruthlessly practice "identity politics" in a way that most people are just incapable of fathoming. The β€œidentity" in question is: Billionaire.

There's not a single billionaire CEO/Vulture capitalist who would lift their littlest finger to prevent you from being stuffed into a woodchipper if doing so would cost them a few percentage points.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger steps down from struggling chipmaker

Dec 2 (Reuters) - Intel (INTC.O) Chief Executive Pat Gelsinger has stepped down less than four years after taking the helm of the company, handing control to two lieutenants as the faltering American chipmaking icon searches for a permanent replacement.
Gelsinger, who resigned on Dec. 1, left the company before the completion of an ambitious and costly four-year plan to restore the company's lead in making the fastest and smallest computer chips, a crown it lost to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (2330.TW) which makes chips for Intel rivals such as Nvidia (NVDA.O)
While Gelsinger has assured both investors and U.S. officials, who are subsidizing Intel's turnaround, that his manufacturing plans remain on track, the full results will not be known until next year, when the company aims to bring a flagship laptop chip back into its own factories.

Intel should have pulled it's 13/14 Gen chips the moment it became clear they had serious problems. Admit you screwed up and fix it.

Continuing to sell something you know is crap is a long-term reputation hit you are NOT going to recover from.

in reply to NutWrench

This is not due to the 13/14th generation CPU recall, rather Intel as a whole is floundering.

They missed the entire AI gravy train, losing market share to AMD, lost Apples business, etcetera. Intels foundry requires a lot of capital for both RnD and to keep the fabs running. They are losing market share and they have higher cost business compared to their competitors.
