Adding another #systemd unit setting: RemoveIPC.

I noticed while working out these settings, that more and more new technical terms, #linux kernel things, and abbreviations are being introduced. Where possible, I try to support them with a hover (e.g. abbreviations) or pages that explain a concept in a little bit more detail. It is a lot of work, but as I intend to link to more pages from within the Lynis security tool, I feel it is worth the effort.
Happy hardening!
@Ratchman Today I stumbled across *The Void*, an amazing online project of prose and some contributed illustrations, clearly shooting for the television market. To be clear, there is a lot to read here: three seasons of 15 episodes each so far, the first episode, presumably typical, being some 37,000 words. I should think £0.50p per episode is very good value for money (first three free).

This, this right here is why our collective intelligence and our ability to think critically is trending to zero. We’re either slack-jawed and drooling over the content of the rich and famous, or we’re buttering our brains with the viral attempts of try-hard would-be celebrities.

This way the content stands on a thing one naturally built, VS building an artificial like machine that one cannot morally maintain.
And still, give that content only when ready for the innevitable: some just wont like it. and will tell you. loudly.
For some reason this was strong enough that it prompted me to write an entire article as a sort of reply:
Ended the tour of San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy on 17 Oct 2024 with this model of the town. The model of a tower shows how little living space is actually available in the towers. Also took a landscape shot of the area.

Once LLMs became mainstream, it’s been clear that CAPTCHAs as a bot detection tool would soon be obsolete. The arrival of AI Agents being built by big tech companies with the explicit goal of buying tickets and booking trips online will be the final nail in the coffin.
It’s hard to imagine a durable future bot detection solution that would outsmart an AI but also is simple enough for the average human.
Ayup. Once any metric is defined as a target, it ceases to be useful.

As soon as we 1) used Captcha behavior as a definition of "not a bot" and 2) used Captcha behavior to train computer vision models (e.g., ML, LLMs), it was apparent that Captchas and similar tools had a limited lifespan.
To be _really_ worried, we should examine what the next "humanity" metrics will be, who is motivated to bypass them, and what's being developed for that capability.
Over time I have become accustomed to CAPTCHAs on many websites.
I realized that lots of people are asked to identify stoplights and zebra crossings, and it's not just because I am a pedestrian safety advocate.
But I am now extremely pissed when a website that uses AI to generate articles and illustrations asks me to prove I'm human.
