Yes indeed. We gotta stay vigilant to possible supply chain hacks like Solarwinds back in 2020. Verify secure connections and, I know its a pain, but check software checksums after download! #Linux #Unix #BSD

This is a new #art installation at a transitway station here in #Ottawa. It is entitled "Humans Are Awful" by I.M.A Idiot. It was created by stealing a an 80 lb steel Walmart shopping cart, pushing it to the transit station, taking it up in the wheelchair elevator to the top level and then throwing it down the stairs so it is now stuck on the intermediate landing, halfway down the staircase. This will require at least two strong people to remedy this. They are also lucky that no one was coming up the stairs when they threw it down.
in reply to Adam Hunt

Those carts weigh about 12 pounds.. I can lift and carry one easily even with a decent load of shopping inside.... One person could clear that crap in seconds..

These steel shopping carts actually weigh about 80 lbs (36 kg). It takes two strong people to lift one and even then would be tricky to carry down a flight of stairs.

This is Gay Valimont, a democrat running for Congress to fill Matt Gaetz seat. Can she win? Can she win in this bastion of MAGAdom?

Yes

All it takes is for you to show up. All you have to do is show up and fill in a little circle with a pencil and frankly that doesn't seem like a lot of effort if you REALLY care about all those things you say you care about.

Show up. Win. Show these goddamn fascists they don't have a mandate, they're not the majority, this isn't their country.

Is it just me or does the #Pixelfed app behave inconsistently? A lot of the time get a pic ready, type out the alt text and the caption. Hit “post” it says it’s doing stuff but then nothing gets posted…

Leaving me at, “Well I’m not doing all of that again.” Then I don’t go back to it for months.

@dansup Sweet. When it good, it good. 👍

Be cool if there was a way to save a post that doesn’t go through as a draft maybe. 🤷‍♂️

Why Does No One Understand the Real Reason Trump Won?

It wasn’t the economy. It wasn’t inflation, or anything else. It was how people perceive those things, which points to one overpowering answer. trib.al/NE43uRN

Steve Weiss on Bitcoin: That's the beauty of investing in something with no intrinsic value, you can't say if it's over or underpriced, it's purely momentum

The remark from Steve Weiss here on CNBC about Bitcoin is Wall Street speech for:
I believe that there are many suckers out there at this moment.

So far Trump’s tenure as President-elect has consisted of a failed attempt at turning an alleged child sex trafficker into Attorney General,

an ongoing attempt at turning an alleged sexual assaulter into Secretary of Defense,

and a mad scientist who’s been trying to force a government shutdown in Trump’s name while Trump naps.

Is this really what these dummies voted for?

Trump’s base, sure, yeah.

But all the dummies in the middle who were gullibly conned by a complicit media into believing that Biden needed to be ousted
and Trump was going to magically deliver lower prices?

This can’t be what they signed up for.

And yet it’s what they (and we) are now stuck with.

You break it, you bought it.

In the US, only CEOs and corporations are protected by the state

Well, ain't that the truth! In fact, I think for those of us who read Hegel, we might have run across a passage or two where he criticizes people who substitute jargon for actually thinking matters through . . .
