TITLE: Building sentence structure may be language-specific

Do speakers of different languages build sentence structure in the same way? In a neuroimaging study, scientists recorded the brain activity of participants listening to Dutch stories. In contrast to English, sentence processing in Dutch was based on a strategy for predicting what comes next rather than a 'wait-and-see' approach, showing that strategies may differ across languages.

The recent #RustLang internals thread by Drew DeVault is extremely frustrating.
First of all, there's an element of "the worst person making the argument you agree with", then, there's the abrasive tone. Third, there are a couple passersby that come in to essentially brigade for ddevault, smearing the good point in toxic sludge.
Then, on the other side, arguing with Rust maintainers in the stability space if probably very frustrating. It's like they want to agree with you, but there's this dark shadow behind them, doing a ventriloquist performance of repeating the same points ad-nauseam.
And the shadow is The Kraken Of Stability, but it's also Capitalism. Because who wants to not ever pay for maintenance? Yes, that's right, businesses.

And yet another side of it is that you can feel how this monster of money and tentacle is strangling the Rust Language. This is a pure speculation, but I can't help but feel that being constrained by stability imposed by corporate users has gotta be a significant contributing factor to contributor burnout. People on all sides are frustrated, the potential of the language is being squandered, and it's all because of the same thing that is also causing the fucking climate change.

Holy hell, nothing is safe from capitalism.

This would be going completely off-topic, but the same goes for another interest I have: synthesizers. Google how much a Moog Model D goes for, then look up it's Behringer clone, then read a couple threads on how Behringer's founder and CEO is a horrible human being, if you want to let capitalism to ruin your day a little more than it already did.
