Israel’s ruling coalition rejected on 22 January a bill proposal put forward by the opposition aimed at the establishment of a State Commission of Inquiry into Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Fifty-three voted against the bill in the Knesset, while 43 voted in favor.
A State Commission is the highest level of investigation in the Israeli legal system, and is customarily carried out independently – as opposed to government-appointed probes.
