Quali sono i confini di questa gruppo. Una prima idea sarebbe i 4 di Visegrad, forse Slovenia, forse Germania dell'est, forse Romania... Ma parliamo della intersezione di centro e est o unione? La tua descrizione sicuramente include anche il Baltico, i Balcani, forse anche l'Ucraina, Bielorussia, Moldavia? A questo punto tralasciamo il Caucaso?
Non pensate che vi sto provando. Io sono bulgaro. Queste domande ci le facciamo ogni volta quando si parla sia di sud, sia di est. Su un'altra istanza ho creato comunità sui Balcani e sul mar Nero. Anche lì li confini sono una sfida.

Ma per quei paesi, l'essere comunista non c'entra nulla con quello che pensiamo noi dell'Europa occidentale o i Cinesi o i Cubani.
Per quel paesi il comunismo rappresenta l'umiliazione di essere stati occupati da una potenza straniera che li considerava nella migliore delle ipotesi come dei figliastri da accudire controvoglia e nella peggiore come animali da allevamento.
