Six and a half years after the torturous jail death of Hardel Sherrell, charges have been filed against Michelle Skroch, the director of nursing who was in charge of Sherrell’s care at Beltrami County Jail. Skroch was charged with second degree manslaughter and two felony counts of criminal neglect. The charges mark a “historic moment” in Minnesota as Skroch is the first medical provider in the state charged with an inmate’s death, said attorney Zorislav Leyderman.

CoreWeave, the former crypto mining company which pivoted to renting out GPUs, is being described as the WeWork of the AI boom.
While it’s grown $16M to $1.9B in revenue from 2022 to 2024, it’s also facing $7.5B in debt repayments by the end of next year which exceeds its cash flow.
The founders have already cashed out $488M and it looks like a financial time bomb. Good luck IPO investors.

#Bluesky nominally has the capacity to be decentralized, in practice, it's fully centralized. What led @vortex to call it "federation washing".
But what about #blacksky? Is this a working example of #decentralization of Bluesky?
On the level of technical infrastructure, it's a service built on top of Bluesky, on a social level, it's clearly distinct (different feeds, moderation, social user basis).
In terms of building a space of a large minority community, it seems to have succeeded where Mastodon failed so far,. And it might even be large enough to decentralize the infrastructure as well.
