North Korea’s New Close-Range Ballistic Missile Could Be a Game Changer
If the KN-35 missile is quasi-ballistic, then it will likely be a low-altitude missile—meaning that South Korea’s limited arsenal of American-produced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-ballistic missile defense systems and Patriot miss…BYTESEU (Bytes Europe)
France’s new “war on drugs” law won’t stop drug trafficking. But it will expand invasive surveillance—especially targeting migrants, activists, and political dissent.

• remote activation of phones by police
• mass surveillance via black boxes sucking up internet and telecoms metadata

Statewatch | France: How the “war on drugs” is turbo-charging surveillance powers
A French law is set to unleash invasive new police surveillance powers. Fuelled by absurd rhetoric, the government is proposing what has been dubbed “the worst surveillance law in the EU”. Experts warn that it will fail to achieve its aims.www.statewatch.org
Hi, more #linux help questions:) Can someone advise me on how I discover what USB devices are connected to my system? I'm trying to get a game controller setup, but it doesn't seem to appear.
I've already installed "xboxdrv" which should have fixed it, but no luck::(
I'm on #ZorinOS
*edit thx all, I think I'll need to jump into the ZorinOS forums, it's not quite as simple of a fix as I'd hoped, I guess.

#BREAKING:
“Judge James Boasberg has found probable cause that the #Trump administration acted in contempt of court when officials last month defied his order to turn two planes around carrying alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador.
"Court ult determines that the Government’s actions on that day demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Govt in criminal contempt”

Every American who wants to stop this TRUMP/MAGA movement that has made its prime objective the annihilation of the existing government with a “hostile takeover” by attacking American rights and freedoms like Social Security, Medicare, Veterans, Voting, ignoring legal court orders and forcibly “disappearing” individuals, needs to flood their Republican Congressperson’s phone, email, or inbox with a message like the following:
The Sun is rising over Cerro Armazones in #Chile!
And so does ESO's ELT: with the structure of one of the dome’s sliding doors now fully installed, construction on the dome of the telescope has reached its highest point.
The occasion also marks over 60% completion of the ELT. It was celebrated today at ESO's Headquarters in Garching, Germany, as well as at the ELT construction site in Chile!

Reminder that Kilmar Ábrego García is not a criminal. He is not a gang member. He is not a terrorist. Those are all lies, being told by some of the worst people in the world.
He is a legal resident of the United States who came to this country at the age of 16. He works and pays taxes. He has never even been arrested. His wife and child are US citizens. He has checked in every year with US immigration officials, as required.

"Can anyone help? I'm trying to get my #nacon #xbox pro compact #controller working on #Linux - more specifically #ZorinOS. Not lighting up when plugged in, not working with #Steam games. I'm on #kernel version 6.8"

What kind of device is it?

or live read it via `sudo journalctl -kf` which will show newly connected devices
