But over time that gameplay was never really expanded (we gained ONE new emotion that wasn't at launch, I believe, but that's it), and even worse, the system was easily influenced by items or -

And on top of that, EA decided to chase trends and add as many IRL memes as possible into the game, which is utterly incompatible with emotional authenticity... especially when those memes are 6 months to 1 year old by the time the expansion is released.
So yeah, if Paralives can accomplish any kind of emotional weight every once in a while, it'll be a radically different and better game than TS4.
