The image is a side-by-side comparison featuring a monk in orange robes sitting on a rock, facing away from the viewer, overlooking a river and mountains during what appears to be either sunrise or sunset. The sky is painted with warm hues of orange and yellow, reflecting on the river's surface. The monk is depicted in a meditative pose, suggesting tranquility and contemplation.

The left side of the image has text that reads, "My life if China was stealing my data," while the right side has text that reads, "My life if China is not stealing my data." The text is positioned at the top of each panel, with the monk and the serene landscape below. The overall composition of the image conveys a sense of calm and introspection, with the monk's posture and the natural setting emphasizing a peaceful state of mind.

Massive Attack prove 98% emission reduction possible

[Read on Ethical Revolution]

In August last year Massive Attack staged a ‘proof of concept’ one-day festival in Bristol to show that low carbon festivals are doable. I was lucky enough to attend the event and I wrote an extensive report on it at the time.

The Tyndall Centre for Climate Research has now released the findings from analysing the festival’s emissions, showing that it produced an incredible 98% decrease in power emissions from comparable shows.

Vegan food, incentives to travel by rail and a fleet of electric vehicles reduced catering and haulage emissions by 89% and 70% respectively.

The report also showed that 5% of attendees opted to fly to the festival and in doing so they generated 64% of the event’s overall greenhouse gases.

[Niwatoko]Sambucus racemosa subsp. sieboldiana

During the rainy season, clouds are thick and dim beneath them. Its dimness is even more so in the forests. When sunlight shining through the clouds illuminates something in such a place, it emerges into the darkness either vividly or mysteriously, depending on the intensity of the sunlight.
