There's also purple 250-300 AQI near monterey park, and down near Santa Ana

Now all the air pollution seems to have drifted north and now is stuck against the santa monica and san gabriel mountains.
All the red and dark red sensors that were in long beach toward santa ana are now showing yellow, while all the red to dark red sensors for AQIs 150-250 are running along the mountains from santa monica to arcadia.

- Limit your outdoor activity
- Avoid vigorous exercise
- Keep windows and doors shut and make use of air purifiers indoors
- Wear a mask equivalent to N-95 or better when outdoors

Here's a plot from my home assistant instance that's reading my closest airnow.gov/ AQI indicator.
Air now's measurements differ from purple air in they're more accurate where the sensor is, and includes ozone in the air quality measurement, but there's far fewer sensors than with purple air.
Also the purple air sensors measure particulate pollution which is a big chunk of what fireworks and fires produce. Ozone is more a product of combustion or volatile organic compounds.

in reply to Diane • • •And funny thing about those volatile organic compounds (VOCs) apparently we've gotten enough emission controls onto our cars that now heat stressed trees are turning into the largest source of ozone precursor molecules
"Combining results with temperature patterns down to a resolution of 4 kilometers squared (about 2.5 miles squared), the team determined that botanical sources of VOCs, which include compounds like isoprene, monoterpenes, and sesquiterpenes, contributed to around 60 percent of the potential formation of secondary organic aerosols at the start of the LA summer."
