"Puerto Rican authorities have cooperated with the United States in favor of the mass deportation project, confirming residents’ worst fears. The Puerto Rican government, led by Governor Jennifer González, has ordered the Puerto Rico State Police and municipal police forces to collaborate with the US by sharing information with immigration agents and enabling immigration raids on the island."

@cobalt123 Bribe? Most probably, there's no actual bribe. The main political parties here in the island are sycophants to whomever may be in power in the mainland USA.

Threat? The inherent threat in all colonial relations. I only wish I knew enough about the subject to give you an accurate and brief answer.

Just in case, Puerto Rico isn't free, but also, making us a state is far from the silver bullet many think it is.

The image shows a person holding a black smartphone with their right hand. The person is wearing a light blue shirt with white horizontal stripes. The smartphone is being held in a way that suggests the person is either about to use it or is currently using it. In the upper left corner of the image, there is a green checkmark inside a circle, which is commonly used to indicate approval or completion. The background is blurred, focusing attention on the hand and the smartphone. The overall color scheme is soft and muted, with the blue of the shirt contrasting with the black of the phone.

The image features a movie poster for "13 Ghosts," released in 1960 by William Castle. The poster has a dark blue background with a red skull in the top left corner, with the number "13" prominently displayed. Below the title, the text reads "1960 • William Castle." A review follows, stating, "I love horror originals and this was no exception. Quite different from the newer remake, but still great!" The poster includes a family image with four individuals, suggesting a family theme. At the bottom, there are four buttons: "Didn't Like It," "Decent," "Liked It" (highlighted in blue), and "Loved It!"

The image is a meme divided into two sections. The top section features a man in a suit speaking into a microphone, with a blurred background. Below his image, there is text that reads: "ARSTECHNICA.COM OpenAI declares AI race 'over' if training on copyrighted works isn't fair use." The bottom section shows a person in a hooded jacket and mask attempting to break into a car through the window, with the text: "10/10 of Car Thieves agree laws are not good for business." The meme humorously compares the perceived stance of OpenAI on AI development with the perspective of car thieves on the effectiveness of theft laws.
