I've lived within 10 miles of Port Isaac, a popular tourist thing due to some TV program thing, for ten years now... been dragged there four or five times myself I think. It's always too busy for me. Hordes of 'em, buzzing about going 'Oooh, it's (some fictional character's) house!', even in winter. What's it like in school holiday peak zone? Who knows. Try getting a car anywhere near.
They've built an out-of-town car and coach park, and run shuttle services into the village now.
One of the BEST things about the place IS the shuttle service though The sign for the meeting point in the car park is Port Isaac Shuttle Service. They capitalise it.

In the late '70s & early '80s there were a lot of ppl saying that #computers were useless toys. And they were mostly right at the time. #Communication was and is the no1 killer app for computers (no, not #games). But that didn't fully arrive until 1997 for most ppl, 20 years later. Also consider that when capable #smartphones came around in 2007, people stopped using computers (now, 90% of overall usage is on #phones).

Although the Apple II was very expensive in the UK. Even the Atari 400 was expensive.
I think one of the first micros I used was a Sinclair ZX81. I used an Acorn Electron a lot for games and programming (BASIC and Logo with turtle graphics). Even the Electron was a cut-price version of a more expensive computer (BBC Model B). And yes, the C64 was mainly an (excellent) games machine.
