I just finished The Stone Giant, book 3 of the Stone Man series by Luke Smitherd, and I’m about to begin March Of The Stone Men, the fourth and final book.
The books are sci-fi /thrillers and feature great storytelling infused with pathos, humor, horror (what the Stone Man does to people), and high-stakes action - and the stakes get higher with each book.
The Stone Man series and Smitherd’s other work practically fall into the “hidden gem” category, which is criminal. Smitherd is a very talented writer with some fabulously punchy stories, and his name should be far more common, in my opinion.
