I just found out that imgur is now completely geoblocked in the UK thanks to the Online Safety Act. So that means vast swathes of (embedded) content will now be broken for UK users. Unless it's reversed quite soon, it's something people who have a lot of UK users, and embed content from imgur on their sites, will need to consider

There's a paper by Tang, Cai and Zheng called "A Fast Method of Constructing the Non-Dominated Set: Arena’s Principle"

It describes a simple, fast, and beautiful algorithm for finding the Pareto frontier of a partially-ordered set, i.e. the subset of elements which are not dominated by any other element. But who is Arena, and why aren't they one of the authors? Well, as far as I can tell, there is no Dr Arena, and the algorithm was invented by Zheng. The title is a mistranslation, and the algorithm should be called "the arena principle". Because, you see, it finds the Pareto frontier through *a series of winner-stays-on gladiatorial battles*.
