Keir Starmer has announced that the UK’s first small modular nuclear reactors will be built in north Wales
– and immediately faced a backlash from the Trump administration which pushed for a US manufacturer to be chosen.

Wylfa on the island of Anglesey, or Ynys Môn, will be home to three small modular reactors (SMRs)
to be built by British manufacturer Rolls-Royce SMR.
The government said it will invest £2.5bn.
SMRs are a new – and untested – technology
aiming to produce nuclear power stations in factories to drive down costs and speed up installation.
Rolls-Royce plans to build reactors, each capable of generating 470 megawatts of power, mainly in Derby

Interesting! I knew about French & US companies testing SMRs, but didn’t know Rolls Royce had entered the field.

Thank you for writing this. As someone who also lives in a very red state, I think about this question a lot, and I rather agree with you. "Love your neighbor" sounds nice, but it must not mean empowering him to harm others, or it is unloving to those others. It must include boundaries and caution. Claiming that it doesn't is a tool of abusive Christians.

I had this weekend marked as the probable shipping time in my calendar, but I did squeal a little when the email came in.

Last year's was so awesome. I really enjoyed opening it every morning while I had my coffee. Waiting until 1 December is hard, but it is really fun to do up until solstice.
