Moved from Wezterm to Ghostty this week. All in all, this is a huge net-upgrade in terminal emulator. I didn't quite "get" the hype for Ghostty at launch, and maybe I still don't, but for this specific lateral move, it's great:
- Fewer resize bugs
- Fewer crashes
- Toast notifications when I copy stuff to the clipboard!
- Integrates with xdg-desktop-portal (and by extension darkman) for automatic light/dark theme changes without manual keyboard shortcuts as I did with Wezterm
- Font ligatures get split into their individual characters when the cursor is over the ligature, giving you the best of both worlds: per-character readability when you "zoom in", pretty heiroglyphs when skimming the screen
- Background opacity blur, not just straight up opacity!
- Minimum contrast settings, so that apps attempting to render white-on-white or black-on-black simply cannot
