Hey all. I need some plant advice. I have a morning glory whose stem got broken clean in half and rather low, taking off all the leaves and blooms. Is my plant going to die?? Can I save it? so sadly it probably is going to struggle if it doesn’t have a node to throw up a new shoot. But you will know in a couple of weeks in good growing conditions
@JimmyB this exactly. It may be able to resprout from what is left, but that will depend on how strong it was before it was damaged. Don’t water it much if at all (with no leaves it won’t transpire) and wait to see what happens.

"morning glory" is not a specific plant name. Is it the garden vine or an orchid or something else? Either you add a photo or the scientific (latin) name to distinguish it from others with the same common name.

There's a lot of different plants called a "Morning Glory", but it sounds like they all have a lot on common, so, I'm going to assume your plant is like the ones in my neighborhood:
They are famously hard to kill. Their vines will rapidly climb up anything and everything to the point it can be problematic - but also, said vines are weak and easy to break. That's a survival mechanism, much like how a lizard can detach it's tail to escape a predator.
The true "core" of the plant, where it's stockpiling it's reserves, is actually underground. It throws out shoots to form vines from that rhizome. If it can't save the stump it will try to start a new one using the energy it has stored. This might take some time, though.
Community building is one of the most important, but often overlooked, forms of activism. Organize that book club, get together people you know to swap old clothes and items, invite your neighbors over for coffee and cake. It's harder to turns people against their neighbors when they actually know them and see them as humans. I'm so over the xenophobia in this country. Like, I'm just going to pretend to be mute for now on when I'm out in public. I did that once when I went to a bar. I preferred the treatment I got when they thought I was French but mute than when they knew I was foreign. They actually just talked to me like a normal person. It was nice. I once took a metallurgy course from a professor who sometimes reminisced about his life experiences. When he was a college student, he had a part-time job as an assistant coach.
His job was to continually move around the field, feeling the ear lobes of the players to be sure they weren't frozen.
I learned a lot about theoretical and applied metallurgy, plus other important stuff. Such as, that I'm not tough enough to be a Canadian.
