It requires a human to come up with an opinion of whether something 'sucks' or not. The universe can exist perfectly fine without you or me, but we are here, existing, without any choice in the matter. So I can choose to believe that earth is a pointless rock, or I can choose to believe it is a beautiful place full of wonders. Either way, no matter what I believe, earth will be totally fine without me. But I choose to take the option that makes me happy.
This is true. But at the same time being aware that people around you are bringing you down can be enough for you to separate yourself from them and go elsewhere. Or if you can't separate yourself from them then being aware that they are bad influences can be enough to be able to consciously block out their influence

The universe is our playground, and we collectively chose to make it a place of torture.
Not any one person, but the choices, influenced by previous choices... might i have done anything useful if my ancestors had not be conditioned to be useless or harmful?

I mean, because I am a human, I would say humans are probably the worst things in the universe. But even if I was the only human in existence, I would still deeply dislike the universe
It has laws, i.e. physical laws, but justice is a human concept. A concept created to help manage law and order among humans. Justice is not a natural law. Pain exists as something universal to probably all conscious life, but happiness has the same privilege. There will always be things that to a humans conception of things are 'unjust', but that's just not understanding that 'justice' is not a natural law as mentioned above

The same universe provides delights, wonders, summer breezes, and families for us to grow up in and fellowship with other humans and even really lovable and cool animals. It's not all gloomy.

Just saw a video in which some dude was complaining that the archery in the scene in The Hobbit where Bard kills Smaug wasn’t realistic. In the movie about hobbits and dwarves and orcs and wizards and a dragon. The archery wasn’t realistic enough.
I'm in two minds about this. Like on the one hand yes, you do need to accept that watching fantasy require a certain suspension of disbelief. On the other hand if you have expertise in a specific area, and something happens that contradicts your understanding of reality in that area, it's as jarring as if a character just walked through a wall or something and really takes you out of the story.

I was reading something online about archery accuracy.
Any film where the person commanding an archery unit orders them to draw, hold it, hold it, keep holding, not yet, not yet, I said hold, you pathetic excuses for men, keep holding...okay, now you can fire, that unit is going to have everyone off to the apothecary with severe muscle strain. Because it takes a lot of strength to draw a war bow. And more to just hold it drawn. Hell, I'm stealing that for my comic fantasy novels

Every human has the ability to show compassion and care for their neighbor. Just because many don't, doesn't mean the others can't.
The 'universe' so-called is a composite of everyone's thoughts and choices.
