My letter to Governor Polis concerning commuting the sentence of Tina Peters.

Governor Polis,

I have seen a report that you are considering commuting the sentence of Tina Peters because it it "harsh". I strongly urge you to not do that. The right to fair and free elections is key to every other liberty we are assured by the Constitution. As such, interfering with that process MUST be seen as tantamount to treason! It strikes at the linchpin of Democracy itself! Seen in that light, a 9 year sentence is exceedingly merciful and just.

Of lesser importance, but still critical in this time of Federal collapse, the Trump administration would see this move as capitulation, as bending the knee. Perhaps you, or some of your advisor think this would serve to avert his ire from Colorado. Do not be fooled by that pipe-dream! Trump is running a Katocracy. They believe that the only law is the alleged "law of the jungle" and force and power are the only legitimate sources of authority. Stephen Miller said it plainly to Jake Tapper on 2026-01-05. That position is anti-American and runs counter to the philosophies we were founded on and have struggled so log to live up to. If you give in to these people they will take it as a sign of weakness and take more, and more, and more from us until they control every aspect of our lives.

You must not give in to their intimidation or you will open the door to these wolves of men and we Coloradans will be their prey. I am a white, straight, cis-gender male of Germanic origin. I may have the least to fear from these people of anyone I know. Still I am out there in the street protesting at every opportunity, using any privilege I have to defend the rest of us that have more to lose. The Trump administration via ICE showed us all on the 7th what they want to do to us---nay---what they WILL do to us if given the chance. I am out there protesting to have the back of my neighbors, and people like you and your partner. People that Project 2025 is trying to erase from the world. All I ask is that you continue to use your position and power to protect me and other Coloradans from this evil regime.

This regime likes to cloak itself in Christianity. That is a lie. They hold no true Christian values. Don't deal with them as if they do.
