Against Militarization: Scientists Unite in Opposition to EU Rearmament
Manifesto from Carlo Rovelli & Flavio Del Santo:
"Humankind faces tremendous global challenges: climate change, famine in the global South, largest-ever economic inequality, increasing risks of pandemics, nuclear war. The last thing we need today is the Old Continent to move from a beacon of stability and peace to becoming a new warlord."

"Politicians say, completely unwarrantedly, that Russia has expansionist aims towards Europe, posing a threat to Berlin, Paris and Warsaw, when it has just shown of not been even capable of taking its former satellite, Kiev"
"War propaganda is always nourished by instigating exaggerated fear. With diplomacy, Europe can go back to its peaceful coexistence and collaboration with Russia that the cursed Ukrainian affair has disrupted"
Not sure if I agree with either

Oh, Bast, the tankie brain is a thing to behold (and then bin). At which point in Europe's peaceful coexistence with Russia should we return? Should we go back to when Russia murdered 300 people, most of them 🇪🇺, by shooting down a civilian plane? For which we diplomatically rewarded them with Olympic Games AND the World Cup? 🚮

Have a nice day.

As scientists, are we so smart to believe that the only solution to the problem of war is more war?
I quote from Rovelli and Del Santo's manifesto:
And have a nice day.
