#Orgmode however i am recently using nextcloud which can sync on my phone, too. Sad to say, commandline cant deal with that properly yet.

I use todo.txt as my tool on Linux, but had so much trouble trying to synch with Android clients and windows and chromebook that I just use Google tasks now for most things. Sad, but it works!

I used todo.txt long ago. I but for the past almost 10 years I've used emacs org-mode for task management, notes, writing and so much more.

I regularly change my method.

I relied on todo.txt for a long time, and still use it for some computer-related one-off tasks. But most of my TODOs are in the tasks.org android app. Tasks.org contains personal/offline tasks, and also a 'Shopping' task list that I share with my partner via self-hosted CalDAV server.

tasks.org/

Taskwarrior looks interesting, but todo.txt syncs with Markor on Android, and I find mobile sync important for a todo app.

#taskwarrior. cuz it can also load tasks from various ticket systems. Like GitLab or Redmine.

Great combo with timewarrior.

todo.txt mit sleek am Desktop und todo.txt for Android auf dem Handy. Markor ist auch cool, aber da ich bei Notizen auf Joplin setze, brauche ich den ganzen Notizteil von Markor nicht.

there just isn't any app that ever worked for me
in reply to π•‚πšžπš‹πš’πš”β„™πš’πš‘πšŽπš•

I tried taskwarrior for a few days, I also tried nextcloud decks but I can't handle Todo lists.
Mostly I use my brain and browser tabs. Most of my tasks are in a Ticketsystem so having the ticket open as a browser tab helps me to not forget about it.

Todo lists for me are something more to do every day. You have to fill them and read them and decide if a task is done. And if you get feedback that the task needs more work you have to re-add it to the list.

my way isn't really good. But that's how it works for me somehow.
At the moment I struggle with the brain part. I forget too many tasks. Sometimes I know there was something but I can't find a browser tab for it because it was an email.

So I love to see other people's workflow to find ways to optimize my own.
