Thanks. I have been thinking of reviving my blog, or starting a new one, and fediverse integration would be a necessity. Though hacking it into the ancient Python code that my blog ran on would be an uphill battle.
I'm still playing around with it at this stage, but Ghost looks like a good option.
It's like Substack, in that you can have paywalled articles and email newsletters basically out of the box.
It also supports static pages.
But then it can also function as basically a simple single-user Fediverse server. (Note you can follow people and block instances, but it's not as fully featured as something like GtS.)
So you can set it so your posts are automatically visible on the Fediverse or BlueSky.
And also you can do short posts to the Fedi and BlueSky as a "note".
Using this thread as a test, replies from the Fedi are then visible within Ghost.
And it's open source, so you can self-host it.
Overall, it looks like a great option for anyone who blogs or runs a newsletter bug is also active on the Fediverse.
I was impressed with it (after it initially struggled under the weight of all the sign-ups) after seeing Beetoota Advocate migrate all their content to it in 24 hours after turning down Sportsbet's $34M offer (and putting their statement behind a freemium paywall).

How do you power your blog’s ActivityPub integration, btw?

in reply to acb • • •My blog is self-hosted using #Ghost .
The latest version of Ghost includes Fediverse integration out of the box.
So the blogs you post on Ghost appear on the Fediverse, and you can post "notes" which are equivalent to a regular Mastodon post.
There's also BlueSky integration through Bridgy that you can turn on in the preferences menu.

in reply to Bernard Sheppard • • •I'm self-hosting it, using YunoHost and a VPS provider.
It's mostly just to be used as a personal blog and to get to know the platform a little better.
If I were using it professionally then I'd definitely consider the fee.
