"The ICE agent who murdered Renee Good must be prosecuted for murder. He enjoys no immunity from state murder charges.
Then, Blue state governors must call up their National Guard to protect us from the armed ICE terrorists."

"The case [c]ould be removed to federal court, but that just means the ICE agent would be prosecuted in front of a federal judge. State prosecutors would still handle the prosecution.

If the Feds want to file federal charges of their own, that would be a different thing, but I don't think they will."

"Minnesota investigators don’t even need the cooperation of feds to get to where they can file charges. They have the videos and witness statements, they’ll soon have cause of death from the medical examiner. All they need is the ID of the shooter which they can hopefully get from a civilian source."

There was never any doubt project 2025 was going to cut off all funding to blue states. We all know red states can't support themselves. Somehow they have to be able to pretend the red state failing economic policies work. They do that by pouring in federal funds to pretend they're solvant - funds taken away from blue states, who are in fact solvent due to sustainable economic policies and the social support white nationalist christo-fascists hate.

When I say 'before it's too late,' I mean they will eventually move to arrest Democratic leaders.

Stop telling people to remain calm and peaceful and give them a useful mission."

This is what that BBBill was for. Remember how they all the regular funding they could, and then pouring tons of money into a poorly-defined armed force under un-specified White House command?

That is how you budget for a prison state. No services, but lots of armed guards to control and intimidate the population.

if only millions of people had said continuing to throw tons of money at cops while so many of them brutalize civilians is stupid.

If only millions of people would have protested the brutality evident in far too many cops that are allowed to stay cops.

Someone really should have spoken up about civilian lives mattering.

oh wait, millions did.

If only the party many of those millions belonged to had really represented the will of the people.

Why would ICE — which prides itself on using license plate and facial recognition databases — target a vehicle owned by American citizens?

Are they pretending that the vehicle was reported stolen?

Unfortunately the DOJ can federalize the case and take it out of State hands. At which point Trump can pardon him and double jeopardy applies.

I wish I was kidding!

unfortunately, G. W. Bush's gov't got a bill rider pushed through back in the early 2000's that quietly just took deployment of the National Guard out of governors' hands – declaring that the President (not even Congress) had the power to activate or deploy any NG unit to anywhere in the country without that governor's consent; a privilege formerly reserved for periods of declared war only (ha), and I believe restricted only to using them as an expeditionary force.

Many of us tried to raise a stink about that bill at the time but Democrats completely went along with it because 9/11. ICE and DHS were created right around the same time, and those who saw the writing on the wall then were largely ignored. The groundwork for this moment was laid many years ago and people got mad at us for saying it. And Democrats did nothing at best, at worst actively supported these moves.
