A mobile Foetal Unit. They were used for data collection. Foetuses were easier on resources than chips. Once it reached enough development, progression was stunted. Medulla oblongata and cerebellum were reflashed for unit control and mission specific parameters. They were sent in as a disposable biomech. But, nearly 100yrs out, and the Institute collects enough of them still intact to prove that nature is geared towards survival.
