Though it took me a while to learn what they were in this particular combination, because it tastes /nothing/ like regular turnip (which is considerably more bitter).

@lispi314 I remember seeing a comic a while back where someone says "I invented a new vegetable!" and someone replies "is it brassica again?" I couldn't find it, but apparently there's an XKCD about it anyway, because of course there is.
@StarkRG @lispi314 Fuck XKCD. They don't describe their comics. And its not like they don't know what the alt attribute is, because half the time its got some smart-arsed comment in it. And I'm quite sure if they don't want to do alt text themselves, they can afford to get someone else to do it for them, given their reach and popularity

It would probably taste perfectly fine but the texture would probably be a problem unless they were pressed & drained.

Rutabaga != turnip.
StarkRG
in reply to LisPi • • •Eh, close enough. The biggest difference is that rutabaga is more fun to say.

From their looks they're probably still related somehow though.

They're not "white turnips" but they're turnips. Though I've actually had them under a much cuter name when I was in Scotland...neeps!

Makes me think of the Taskmaster Swede tasks. In particular the task "Balance your swedes on your Swede"
I couldn't find it as a clip on youtube, but it is at the end of this compilation of other Fred the Swede tasks. youtu.be/DsUf6kAqIEg

Very related indeed, huh. What a surprising outcome from its sources.
