This was part of year 8 Maths homework, which all of us completely failed to solve. Any math wizards out there help us with the answer? It's from a textbook, so we're assuming it's solvable by a 12-year-old.

My maths teacher partner came up with:
(5+6)-(7/8)*9
Although she notes that the bracketing is somewhat redundant, because BIDMAS.
