I'll do my best to avoid being bitchy here, please call me in if I fail...
The #CoHost team recently announced the shutdown of their service by the end of the year;
cohost.org/staff/post/7611443-…
This is a shame. They seem like cool people, and I've yet to hear reports of anyone having bad experiences using CoHost. I'm all for throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. If their attempt to build a boutique Walled Garden had worked out, I would have been pleased to be proved wrong.

If CoHost had been built to federate over ActivityPub, making it part of the fediverse, it would have massively increased the social network available to people using CoHost. While allowing them to outsource a lot of helpdesk and moderation work to the admins of other servers, and pan-fediverse projects.

FWIW I saw a update from the DreamWidth.org hosts saying that a lot of people are migrating there from CoHost. Hopefully they can import the data dumps CoHost are supplying to people with accounts there.
